Suddenly seascapes

I have been getting absorbed in oil paints. The gorgeous flowing, strokes with the brush over canvas, the soft and subtle blends of brilliant blobs of colour or light. The natural result has been heading towards seascapes, a subject I have painted often in the past but never really taken seriously. Now I can see a way for more abstract work to work alongside traditional scenes. Sadly the smell gives me a massive headache so half a day in the studio is my maximum in oils.

I did a demonstration yesterday of a seascape, to the art group at Pevensey Bay, but it was a demonstration of how to use acrylics and, although I enjoyed it and was pleased with the result that evolved over the 2 hours, I would dearly have loved to top it off with a layer of oil paint.
