You can see some of my paintings on glass at Gallery North in Hailsham until June 27th 2015. The gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10 am til 4pm and most Tuesday evenings from 7 til 9pm while the Hailsham Art Group is meeting. Also on show are some large and vibrant abstract paintings by Robert Sparkes and a wide variety of art, craft and photography by the 20 resident artists.
I am continuing my glass theme by attending a 6 week Fused Glass course run by Rachel Hoath of the Bexhill Glass Workshop. I wanted to find out more about the science behind glass and to discover some of the other ways to be creative with glass and, having just had my second session, I am learning a lot! My cutting skills still leave a bit to be desired but I am absolutely loving working with coloured glass. Watch this space for some photos of my ‘creations’.
My art tutoring is going well with 2 or 3 classes each week and a one-to-one session every Tuesday plus I’m getting more bookings for workshops and demonstrations for art groups. This friday evening I shall be painting a local landscape in chalk pastels in front of the Wannock Art Group. I’m also very pleased to have been asked to be the demonstrator for the annual Autumn Art Show in October in Eastbourne in aid of the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital. So, I am getting to make a spectacle of myself again..
AND… I am busy rehearsing with the Dicker Players for our latest production – Allo Allo! by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft which we will be staging at Hailsham Pavilion in July. Once again I get to put on an accent and another personality – this time a small, frustrated, psychopathic french waitress…
