Perfect space

The conservatory at Pickhams is the perfect place for my small art workshops and on warm days we can work outside in the gardens. My Wednesday Workshops continue today with a break from advertised – we’re inspired by the BBC Big Painting Challenge programme and are going to try self portraits and have a go at using oil paints too.

The workshop programme ends today but I’m open to running more if there is a demand. I’m also happy to gear small workshops to specific requirements on days/times to suit so if you’re interested in getting together some friends for a fun couple of hours of art, please do get in touch.

Right now, I’m working on my second commission of the day, a portrait of a dog in watercolour. Tomorrow, I’ll be working in pastels. I love the variety of teaching and doing commissions! I’m also sticking to my plan of refining collections of work for exhibitions and am gradually collating a whole series of reference photos – I can already envisage the range of finished work, but I’m not going to rush and will wait until I have all of the reference before I start painting… it’s tempting though…
