Wednesday Art classes

Pickhams, Wilmington Wednesday afternoons 2-4pm

Birling Gap – Josie Tipler. Acrylics.

A series of 8 art sessions for those with some painting experience, covering various subjects and mediums including landscape, seascape, figures, watercolour sketching, using acrylics, pastels, mixed media. [Please note that the venue has changed from Arlington Village hall to Pickhams in Wilmington]. We may continue after the 8 sessions if desired.

Starting Wednesday 21st January with Seascapes in Acrylics. Bring acrylic paints, brushes, water pot and palette, canvas (stretched or canvas board NOT acrylic paper), pencil and sketchbook.
Wed 28th Jan – Acrylic Glazes – skies, sunsets. Bring smooth primed surface, acrylics, acrylic glaze if you have it.
Wed 4th Feb – Still life sketching in watercolour or acrylics. Bring any large, heavyweight paper and whichever paints you want to use.
Wed 11th Feb – Still life in Chalk Pastels. Bring soft chalk pastels and either coloured paper/card/mountboard (canford is good, doesn’t have to have a texture but must not be shiny).
Wed 18th Feb – Woodland Scenes in mixed media. Bring canvas board or thick board (mountcard), acrylic or watercolour paints and coloured pencils and pastels, acrylic ink if you have it.
Wed 25th Feb – Figurative work in mixed media with collage. As above but also bring variety of colours of tissue paper (look for no-bleed / bleed-free) and some PVA glue with a suitable brush and a jamjar. We will continue next week.
Wed 4th March – continuation of Figurative work.
Wed 11th March – Painting or drawing a landscape from a photograph – using linear, tonal and colour perspective. Your choice of medium.

£6 per session or 8 sessions for £45.
